Do You Know That How Does Injectors Work In VW Polo 1.4 For Sale
Today the part of our technical section dedicated to the Diesel Cycle engine focuses on the Injectors are a crucial component for the proper functioning of the VW polo 1.4 for sale. It should be noted that the fuel pushed by the injection pump is pulverized in the cylinders.
Passive And Active
They are divided into passive and active, the former open and inject when the pressure at their entry exceeds the opening value and are used in engines where the pump itself decides the moment of injection, i.e. in traditional Diesel. The latter, on the other hand, are used in modern common-rail systems and also in the VW Group injector-pump systems. In these cases, a solenoid valve determines when the injection should start. The injectors are mainly composed of a pulverizer i.e. a needle valve, which is screwed into the injector holder. The pin is kept pressed against its seat by a spiral spring, the load of which can be adjusted through shims or with an adjusting screw. The injector holder is the external body of the injector and can be screwed or fixed to the motorhead using brackets or flanges. The fuel, after passing through the injection pump, arrives in the sprayer chamber, which is located under the pinch of the pin, through dedicated channels.
The Drip
When its pressure exceeds that of the spring, the pin is raised and the fuel is finely pulverized by the calibrated holes that are obtained in the lower part of the sprayer body. The injection pressure, which is responsible for lifting the needle, is therefore determined by the calibration of the spring that closes the sprayer. When the delivery ends and the pressure in the fuel arrival pipe are canceled, the spring returns the pin against its seat, thus preventing the injector from dripping. This is essential because the unpoured fuel would be burned incomplete, increasing the smokiness and the consumption of the engine. But that's not all, because with the drip the diesel could leak along the inside of the cylinder, washing the lubricating oil and causing, in the long term, the seizing of the pistons. Obviously, given the fuel pressure, a small amount leaks between the pressure rod and its seat, reaching the spring chamber; from here it returns then to the tank with a recovery outlet, which leads to a rubber hose common to all the injectors.
Efficiency Check
To protect the sprayer from combustion, finally, a washer is placed in front of it; the same settles at the bottom of the seat in the sprayer holder, between the firewall and the sprayer. The flame arrester also limits the deposits that form on the pin, which over time prevents the pulverizer from completely closing. Even on the most modern diesel engines, it is advisable to periodically check the efficiency of the injectors, even more so if the use of the car is predominantly urban because that part has closed correlation with used VW polo 1.4 for price. Besides, as they are used they tend to accumulate fouling and moreover, the spring which pushes on the pin tends to loosen so that the latter opens with lower pressures. The spraying gets worse, there are difficulties in cold starting, the smoke becomes excessive and the performance suffers a general decline.
